Dear Parents/Guardians:

I hope everyone is doing well. I just wanted to give you an update as to what we are doing in class. (Just a reminder, daily agendas, handouts, power points, are made available to download. Anything in orange text is a link you can click on to download a document.) Grades are being updated daily; so check your child's progress on HAC. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Note: Test retakes for both preps must be completed by A Days Fri 10/30 and B Days Mon 11/2. Last day to turn in any type of late work is Wed 11/4 for all classes.

For Pre-AP Biology:
Students are working on two test grade projects. If projects are turned in the next day (1 day late) max of 70 can be earned; and one block (2 days late) max of 50...that is if everything is perfect. Anything turned in after 1 block will not be accepted = 0 for a test grade.

Cell Model Projects: Due A Days 10/28 and B Days 10/29
Biomolecule Projects: Due A Days 10/30 and B Days 11/2

We will have a quiz (70% of overall grades) over cell organelles and properties of water Tues/Wed. There will be a Cell Structure and Transport Test 11/9-10. This test will NOT be included in this six weeks but in the 3rd Six Weeks.

For Regular Biology:
Students have just finished their exams over Biochemistry and Body Systems. Any test retakes must be done within a week as of today! There is a project that we are working on in class, Imagination Cell-abration, that will be worth a test grade with a possible max score of 110. This project is due at the beginning of class A Days 10/30 and B Days 11/2. Projects turned in one day late can earn a max score of 70 and two days (one block) can earn a max score of 50. Afterwards, any projects will not be accepted=0 for a test grade. Please remind your child and help them with this project.

There will be a cell organelle and properties of water quiz (70% of overall grades) on Wed/Thurs. A test over Cell Structures and Transport will be administered 11/9-10. This test grade will not be included in the 2nd six weeks but will be for the 3rd six weeks.

Thanks again,
T. Dang

Dear Parents/Guardians:

I apologize for taking so long to communicate, but typing in all your email addresses take a while to do. For the rest of the school year, I will be communicating with you through this website with updates and reminders. If you wish to not be on my email list, please email me back and I will remove your address. Be on the look out for Progress Reports. They will be distrubuted this Thursday. It is not too late to bring up grades! 3 more weeks remain in the six weeks.

If you child was to attend tutorials Monday 10/19, I apologize for not being available, there was an emergency that I needed to attend to.For both preps, Biology and Pre-AP Biology, I am in the process of entering grades. Please check Home Access Center (HAC) to check up on your child's progess. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me using email, phone, or the contact form on this website.

For Pre-AP Biology: The students just finished a test. I will be entering their test grades as the tests are graded. Any scores lower than 70 can be brough up through Test Corrections. Test corrections need to be done in a timely manner (within 1 week of receiving scores). Please don't be too alarmed with low grades. We are only half way through the six weeks and at least 3 more assessments will be provided. We are starting a new unit over cells for the rest of the six weeks.

The following are some important dates:
10/20-21: Homework is to make play doh. Next project is making a cell model and play doh is needed by next class day to make the models.
10/28-29: Biomolecule University Project is Due.

For Regular Biology: Students are taking a test 10/20-21. I will be entering grades as the tests are scored. Any score lower than a 70 can be brought up to a 70 through Test Corrections.  Dear Parents/Guardians,

I am very excited to meet and work with your students this year. To help me understand and relate to your child better, please fill out out "About My Child" questionnaire. You can do so by clicking here and filling out the form. Just a note, any text in orange is a link to another website or a link to download a document.

Throughout the school year, I will be using this website to communicate home to you. If you would like me to send an email out to you whenever I do update my Newsflash, please fill out the contact form on the right hand side of this page. If you already filled out the form "About My Child," then I already have your information. Whenever you need to update your information, please do so on the contact form on the right side of this page.

For my class, your child will need a few supplies. I have sent home a Supplies List, but for those that got lost, I have it posted on my website. At the end of the week, I will send home a Parent Letter and Course Information Sheet. Keep a look out for those. Most important supply is the 5 Subject Notebooks that MUST be in by Sept 2. We will work everyday in these notebooks so it is vital that your child has his/her notebooks by Sept 2.

You can also access your child's grades at home using the Home Access Center (HAC). HAC is a program that enables parents to go online and review your child's grades at any time. If you have trouble obtaining access, please contact the counseling office. The HAC website is https://accesscenter.roundrockisd.org/homeaccess/

Again, I am looking forward to a successful school year. If you have any questions, please contact me.

Thanks,
Teresa Dang
